For the second time, I have ordered adorable handmade felt hair pretties from my friend, and Logan and Kelsey’s former tumbling instructor, Jacque. Go check out her blog- she sells these, made to order. She has lots to choose from (and she’ll ship them too). We just adore them, and Kelsey wears one just about every day.
Jacque also designs digital scrapbooking supplies, and I only use her stuff. She is so talented and creative!
So anyway, here is Kelsey’s stash of hair pretties, minus the little gingerbread man, who is hiding somewhere in this house.
See that cute cupcake? That one is to wear on her birthday. Love it!
And here is Kelsey, modeling my current favorite, the froggie.
Right now, Jacque is having a giveaway- she’s got 3 of the hair clippies (everyone else in the world calls them clippies, Kelsey and I call them pretties LOL) up for grabs. If you make a comment on her blog, you could win them:)
Okay, back to my photo editing. I have 3 galleries to get ready! Jamie, yours is almost done!

This week has truly been a blast! I have met several really neat families, and had the privilege of photographing some amazing kids and newborns. Today was just the icing on the cake- my 5th photo shoot in as many days. The K family is a beautiful family. My kids and their kids hit it off instantly and played hard the whole time I was photographing baby J, who was such a content little lady. She slept most of the time.
Here is a quick preview. I am done with my shooting spree this week. Now I will be working diligently to get everyone’s galleries up.
Thank you so much, K family. It was truly a pleasure meeting and spending time with your lovely family today. My kids have been talking about their new friends all afternoon!

I had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous 3 week old, and her older sisters and brother. What a sweet family!
Here’s a little sneak peek. It may take me a few days to get the rest done- I have been busier than ever lately!

The kids and I had SO MUCH fun with this family today! Everyone just really hit it off, and it really seemed much more like a play date than a photo shoot. They should all be like this! The kids made new friends and had a blast playing together and exploring the gardens.
Thanks for meeting up with us today! Here’s a quick sneak peek. I’ll be working on the rest of your pictures, and your gallery should be ready by the end of the week:)

This morning I met up with J, a senior who just graduated from high school last week. Congrats, J!
He is into skateboarding, so it was fun incorporating that interest into some of his pictures. We had a good time, in spite of the fact that 9am is way too early on a Sunday morning for a guy who is done with high school. Thanks for coming out so early!
I’ll have your gallery ready in the next few days.

I had the honor of photographing my friend’s vow renewal. After 15 years of marriage, they publicly proclaimed that they’d do it all over again. Truly inspiring!
This is just a tiny share- I have over 300 that made the cut:)

I may not be a democrat, but I’m an American. An American photographer. I am not going to lie. I was in this mostly for the chance to photograph a famous person. And my wonderful husband went to the high school to stand on line at 3am, to ensure the very best vantage point. And my wonderful friend Michelle let me use her Nikon 80-200 2.8 lens to get most of these shots. The last shot shows what I would have gotten (even from the front row, center) if I had been stuck with my longest lens, which only reaches 75mm.
Obama is a great speaker, and a charismatic photographic subject. It was a good time, after the 2 plus hour wait, accompanied by much grumbling from the boys. The fact that Kelsey got to spend the morning at the ranch didn’t help much with their grumbling;)
In the end, I got the great shots I was after, and we all got to shake the president’s hand. I couldn’t get good pictures of that though, because the crowd pressed us into the barricade and I couldn’t get far enough away to take the pictures.
Cute shot of a little girl snapping a pic of the prez.

This last shot is for you, Michelle. This shot was taken with the 28-75 2.8. It looks like I was several rows back, but it was taken from the same spot as the other pictures. Wow!!!

Nah, not a mix up. Instead of posting on my own blog, I made a guest post on the blog of my good friends, Max & Michelle. Turns out running a youth ranch and parenting 4 children can actually cause you to be so busy, you might not have time to keep up with daily blog posts every day. I mean, I don’t even run a youth ranch, and I only have 3 kids, yet there’s no way I can manage daily blog posts.
So anyway, Michelle asked me to write the post last night, since we were out at the ranch yesterday. You can find it here.
Do me a favor: run over there and comment, so I don’t look bad;)

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommies out there! I feel especially blessed to be a part of this elite group;)
Mention this blog post any time in the next week when you schedule your session, and it’s FREE!!! (not including your print order).

Today was opening day for the 2009 season at GGYR. We happened to be lucky enough to be there this morning. It was a beautiful morning, bright and sunny, and not too windy. After solving the ranch’s poop problems (well, not really, but we tried. For a few minutes.) we went over safety rules and the kids debated over who got to ride who first, then they started riding.
I approached my picture taking today with a desire to do something different. I kind of feel like I can only take so many pictures of the kids riding horses before they all start looking the same. So my self imposed challenge for today was perspective. In other words, I crawled around on the ground quite a bit. Yes, I know what has been on that ground. In fact, I scooped some of it up earlier.
Here is Steph helping Grant, who didn’t seem to need much help. Steph was great with him.
