Here’s a sneak from a session at Old Town, bright and early this morning! We had lots of fun wandering around, and I couldn’t help but wonder, why in the world I haven’t done more sessions in this area. So beautiful, so New Mexico!
E family, I hope you enjoy your peek! There are lots more to come!

I had a super fun opportunity to photograph a gorgeous, sweet 2 week old today, along with his sweet family.
Here is a very quick sneak peek. I will be working on the rest this weekend:)
Thanks Michelle for setting this up and for the use of your fabulous, can’t-miss Pumpkin Patch (no, really, you MUST go and bring your kids some time in October!!!) – and buy pumpkins while you are there!
Of course I had to set up a Fall pumpkin scene.

How much cuteness can you stand? Because this is ridiculous.

An image like this begs to be seen in black and white.

And one shot of his lovely big sis. She was SO much fun! Lots more pics of her to come.

Thank you to my new friend, Holly for the use of her cute pumpkin hat, green blanket and leaves:)

A few weeks ago, I began a series of posts entitled “what to wear”. You can find them under the categories tab. Anyway, my plan was to add some weekly inspiration, just to give some ideas of nice coordinating family ensembles that would unify the family without taking the focus away from what’s important, the people!
So once a week turned into… uh, well, alot less than that. But I’m back with more. This time the color scheme is more subdued than the last one. A little less funky, a little more classic. The idea is the same- coordinating, up to date styles that bring the whole family together. All of the clothing used for these inspirational samples can be found at The Gap or Old Navy.

I am so excited this year to offer a fabulous lineup of Christmas cards. Get your scrolling finger ready, because there are 27, that’s right, 27 different designs to choose from! I am having a limited time offer to go with them. Sessions must take place no later than October 30 so that you will have your cards back to you for early mailing. Imagine, your friends and family will think you are so organized and efficient, when they receive your card, and not only is it STUNNING and GORGEOUS, but ON TIME or even EARLY!!! With no hassle, stress or worry on your part. Who needs hassle, stress and worry during the holidays??? Not me, so I want to offer an easy holiday card solution for you this year.

The fine print: Session fee of $150 is due at the time of booking to reserve spot, and is non-refundable. All cards are 5×7 folded cards with envelopes, except choice 27, which is a 5×5 trifold. Cards will arrive one week after card and image selections have been made. Cards may be picked up or I will ship to you for an additional fee. All cards are printed on high quality cardstock with linen texture by a professional print lab. I am only doing location sessions for this promotion- no studio sessions will be offered at this time. I will help you choose the perfect location for your session. It is beautiful in NM this time of year!

Whenever I book a session, usually the first thing my clients ask is, what should we wear? My advice for this is, whatever you want!
No, seriously, within certain guidelines, personalizing your clothing choices to reflect who you are as a family will result in images that allow your personalities to shine through. Do you want a formal portrait? Then I suggest going fairly neutral. Black and denim is nice. Khakis and black work well. Earth tones, like browns and tans, or greys, will also work for timeless, classic formal portraiture. But if you want fun, funky, full-of-pizzazz-n-personality, well, then I say, bring on the colors!
With that said, I do believe that family portraits look better if the subjects are coordinating. Not wearing identical matching outfits, because let’s face it, who does that in real life? But like color families, because it brings the family together as a unit.
So, since apparel for a photo session is such a hot topic, I’ve decided to devote one blog post a week to “what to wear”. I’m not going to tell you what to wear, but just give you some ideas to spark your imagination. The clothing ideas that I show you will hopefully give you a springboard to expand on. You can find the clothing that I post at Gap, Old Navy, or Banana Republic, for the most part. Or you can use the images to find your own choices at the shop of your choosing, or even your own closets.
Clothing choice doesn’t have to be difficult or stressful, nor does it need to be expensive. But it should be fun. Use your imagination! Let your own personal taste shine through!
And with that, I give you my first clothing idea set.
Thanks for looking!

My friend and fellow photographer asked me to take photos of her extended family while they were in town visiting. I am honored to be able to catch this group together. What a fun family!
Here are just a few… gotta love that the dog got in there too! I LOVE pets in family photos- they belong there whenever possible.

This week has truly been a blast! I have met several really neat families, and had the privilege of photographing some amazing kids and newborns. Today was just the icing on the cake- my 5th photo shoot in as many days. The K family is a beautiful family. My kids and their kids hit it off instantly and played hard the whole time I was photographing baby J, who was such a content little lady. She slept most of the time.
Here is a quick preview. I am done with my shooting spree this week. Now I will be working diligently to get everyone’s galleries up.
Thank you so much, K family. It was truly a pleasure meeting and spending time with your lovely family today. My kids have been talking about their new friends all afternoon!
