Yesterday we started our day extra early, in order to get up to GGYR for a work day. 150 people showed up to work on various improvements on the property. Then Kelsey had her first ballet class, and we finished off the day with a photo session for my friend Jen and her sweet family. More pictures to come soon!
Oh yeah, one more piece of news… we are NOT moving to Charleston! While we were pretty excited about the adventure that would be moving cross-country and living near the beaches, we are thrilled to be able to stay here, near our wonderful friends and family! Look for a complete overhaul to this site, probably to be completed later this week. I will no longer use the name SilleShots, but instead, Cindy Ellis Photography. My new web address will be www.cindyellisphotography.com or www.cindyellisphoto.com and you can get to it now using that domain. The current domain will also be active for a few more months, maybe longer. Just in case.
Also look for a HUGE holiday card special! It’s that time of year again. I am finalizing the details, so watch out for that in the next week.

I wanted to share how I accessorize my computer desktop. The kids posed for me as I was taking down my setup the last time I photographed my mom’s Havanese puppies. How thoughtful of them. They made it easy to pick just one picture for my July desktop.

By the way, I snagged this free desktop here. All I had to do was pop my picture behind it, size it down, and voila. 3 pretty faces to look at all month:)
Here’s another cute picture of my sweet posers.

Speaking of accessorizing, don’t you think this reptile just really works with the brown in Logan’s shirt? I truly had no idea he had such an eye for fashion.

Nah, not a mix up. Instead of posting on my own blog, I made a guest post on the blog of my good friends, Max & Michelle. Turns out running a youth ranch and parenting 4 children can actually cause you to be so busy, you might not have time to keep up with daily blog posts every day. I mean, I don’t even run a youth ranch, and I only have 3 kids, yet there’s no way I can manage daily blog posts.
So anyway, Michelle asked me to write the post last night, since we were out at the ranch yesterday. You can find it here.
Do me a favor: run over there and comment, so I don’t look bad;)

Today was opening day for the 2009 season at GGYR. We happened to be lucky enough to be there this morning. It was a beautiful morning, bright and sunny, and not too windy. After solving the ranch’s poop problems (well, not really, but we tried. For a few minutes.) we went over safety rules and the kids debated over who got to ride who first, then they started riding.
I approached my picture taking today with a desire to do something different. I kind of feel like I can only take so many pictures of the kids riding horses before they all start looking the same. So my self imposed challenge for today was perspective. In other words, I crawled around on the ground quite a bit. Yes, I know what has been on that ground. In fact, I scooped some of it up earlier.
Here is Steph helping Grant, who didn’t seem to need much help. Steph was great with him.
