I got to go to Balloon Fiesta one time, on opening day last Saturday. That same afternoon I came down with a horrible illness that has had me stuck at home since, the symptoms of which match those written on the nyquil bottle perfectly. Nyquil, Dayquil and theraflu have been my constant companions this week. And my poor bored kids, who had to do intermittent school in spite of a sick mom.

I’m happy to say that I am finally over the worst of it, just in time to miss the entire rest of the week at Fiesta. We may go tomorrow if I’m up to it.

Here’s a small picture share. This was all I felt up to editing at this point:)

We all help on the crew for our friends. (Well, I say “all” loosely here. I “help” by snapping pictures the whole time. How can I help when I am busy capturing the whole process??)

Horse silhouette

Yesterday we started our day extra early, in order to get up to GGYR for a work day. 150 people showed up to work on various improvements on the property. Then Kelsey had her first ballet class, and we finished off the day with a photo session for my friend Jen and her sweet family. More pictures to come soon!

Oh yeah, one more piece of news… we are NOT moving to Charleston! While we were pretty excited about the adventure that would be moving cross-country and living near the beaches, we are thrilled to be able to stay here, near our wonderful friends and family! Look for a complete overhaul to this site, probably to be completed later this week. I will no longer use the name SilleShots, but instead, Cindy Ellis Photography. My new web address will be www.cindyellisphotography.com or www.cindyellisphoto.com and you can get to it now using that domain. The current domain will also be active for a few more months, maybe longer. Just in case.

Also look for a HUGE holiday card special! It’s that time of year again. I am finalizing the details, so watch out for that in the next week.

I forgot to add these pictures to my last post. Ever since the day we got him, Riley has had a favorite chair. It’s a little tiny camping chair that sits in our back yard. It’s too small for the kids anymore. I’m not even sure why we still have it. When we first got Riley, he fit nicely in it, and loved to sit in it while out in the back yard.

He’s grown a bit since then. But the chair is still the same size.

It cracks me up the way his butt hangs off the side of the chair. He doesn’t seem to mind though.

Notice how it says “Tot Spot”? Well, I thought it needed a new inscription on it.

Riley is 11 weeks now, and I thought I’d better get some cute puppy pictures before he gets any bigger. He already seems to be about double the size he was when we got him, just one month ago.

Not only is he irresistably cute, but he is a very good model too. A perfect photographer’s puppy. I just put him where I wanted him, and he did his duty and sat there, looking handsome.

This wagon has been hauling kids since the year 2000, when we first produced kids to be hauled. It has sentimental value in our family. Plus it’s fun. The kids like to pull Riley around in it, and he happily obliges them.

We are moving to Charleston, SC.

Within the month. Whew! We have really been struggling with this difficult decision, but Jason was offered a really fabulous job, and we couldn’t pass up the opportunity. It will be very difficult to leave our family and friends, but we’ll be back to visit this great town. Count on it!

As far as my photography, I will continue to take pictures. I am planning to work hard on my skills for a while, and eventually start all over with a new business name, a new logo and branding. I am going to take this opportunity to polish up everything and start fresh. I will direct this domain to the new site, so save your bookmarks and check back in a few months:) In the mean time, I will use this blog to post personal pictures of our travels and our new town when we get there. Look for lots of BEACH pictures. Yeah!

While I am very sad about leaving those people who are so special in our lives, I am looking at the positives. It’s going to be a wild ride, and I promise to post here with pictures of it.

It’s been fabulous, Albuquerque! Thanks to the many who have made it so! (you know who you are!!!)

First of all, Happy Birthday to Kelsey! She turned 5, and the week was marked with a fun bash with family and friends, a new puppy, and a free playhouse for the backyard! Not too many pictures to share, as the photographer aka mom was too busy with all the festivities, I actually took about 5 pictures during her party. Ack! I hate that I missed so many moments on film but the memories are great!

Here’s our new guy, Riley. We were all awed by the amount of sleeping he did in the first day or so. We all sat around that first afternoon with him and watched him sleep, posed with him sleeping for pictures, and laughed when he twitched with puppy dreams.

This picture is with Claire, the day we got him. She our official dog sitter and cuddler extraordinaire. The dog’s feet did not hit the ground the whole time she was here LOL! I have to mention that she has his big brother, and she told me she cried when her mom and dad brought him home, she was THAT happy to have a puppy. He has grown up into an awesome dog and everyone loves him. We are thrilled to have his little bro.

Here’s Riley at the park. He loves chasing the kids and a ball around in the grass. We go almost daily, and look forward to his leash training so we can walk there. For now we have to drive because he’s too little (and not friends with the leash).

I tried to model the birthday cake after Riley. It’s kind of funny, I think. Hey, it tasted good!

Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures of the playhouse but it is really cute, especially after a coat of paint. My sister’s boss was getting rid of it, and Jason rustled up some manly muscles to help him get it here (thanks sooo much to all the guys who helped us that night!). We are so thankful for the “clubhouse”. The kids love having their own special place to hang out.

I recently did another session at the Botanic Garden, but I can’t post pics yet (they will come later, along with an explanation). I can, however, post some non-people pics from that day.

It had rained really hard the night before, so these guys were all over the pavement.

Lots of colorful flowers, of course.

We finally got to see the butterfly pavilion.

I wanted to share how I accessorize my computer desktop. The kids posed for me as I was taking down my setup the last time I photographed my mom’s Havanese puppies. How thoughtful of them. They made it easy to pick just one picture for my July desktop.

July09desktop snapshot
By the way, I snagged this free desktop here. All I had to do was pop my picture behind it, size it down, and voila. 3 pretty faces to look at all month:)

Here’s another cute picture of my sweet posers.

Speaking of accessorizing, don’t you think this reptile just really works with the brown in Logan’s shirt? I truly had no idea he had such an eye for fashion.
